While waiting for my CD to be shipped, I didn't want to stop recording. So I threw this together yesterday and today. A bit of an anti-love song/corny pop tune.
I had trouble getting it over 3 minutes long, but didn't want to add a gratuitous guitar solo or whatever just to fill it out.

As usual, this is just the first of the many mixes I'm sure I'll end up doing, but let me know if anything really stands out as needing improvement (Besides the pitchy vocals in the bridge which I'll re-do). Thanx.

Sometimes the player goes berserk, but it should be the first song that plays automatically. Just make sure it's Not to Love You.

Nice vibe man....It aint so corny... :p

Just a straight up rocker man...kind of a fun listen. Reminds me a bit of The Offspring...not in sound, but just that they seem to have fun doing their stuff...a bit tounge in cheek.

I like the sounds...it is rougher than some of your mixes, but still has great sound. Nothing really sticks out as bad, but I'm sure as you do some remixes, the tweaks will really make this shine. The playing is cool as always, and the subject just put a smile on my face.... :D

(ok, I smile 99.9% of the time.... :D )

Cool, catchy and campy! I feel sorry for the person on the receiving end of these lyrics! No mercy.... :D

The harmonies are great in this one - really lively and pushes the song into that "happy" place where pop songs go. Well crafted that way.... :)

Instrumentally no problems - everything sitting good. Not getting a whole lot out bass guitar of my cheapo PC speakers - it sort of pops up now and then -but I really need to listen on my headphones to get more "fidelity", so not to worry. I'll try that in the next couple days....

The arrangement is tight and short and sweet - the ending was a little long and repetitive. I was kinda waiting for a fade out. What to add though... maybe some guitar licks, maybe some trademark multi vocals....not sure...I'll leave that with you.....

One for your next CD - definitely a great pop tune man!

:) :D :) :D

Beatles meets The Romantics pop & power pop.
I used to play in a power pop band & this would have made our covers list NO WORRIES!
Mix wise I would fiddle too long or too much - this sort of song needs a rougher edge as it's too easily polished into oblivion listen to the Plimsouls live vs studio & you'll get my drift.
Even when you're busy you belt out another piece that makes me envious.

Great song RAMI.

I'd like to hear it with a bit more bottom end to the vocals. You have a high voice that works well for all your rock tunes. But on this one it would be cool to thicken up the bottom end with a doubled low part -- perhaps even spoken, if that's what it takes! You might have done that already with some of your harmonies...it's hard to tell. But it would be good with more. And the obvious doubled effect that this would create would sit well with the poppy style.

Or you could leave it :) coz it's a cool tune.

Hey guys...Thanx aor for the feedback. I wanted to respond earlier but I was at work. I appreciate everyone taking the time to listen and give advice.

DOGMAN: Thanx alot, I'm glad it comes off as a fun tune because I wanted it to sound happy as opposed to bitter...With those lyrics it could have come off a little bit "Allanis Morrisette Psychotic" like in that tune where she sounds like a potential stalker. :D

IDO: I agree with you on the length or lack of something happening at the end. I think I might have been too obsessed with getting it over 3 minutes. Maybe I should shorten or get the guitar to pick it up a bit near the end. Thanx, as always your ears are very much appreciated.

RAY: I have to listen to the Plimsouls. Not really familiar with them. But you're right about not polishing it up too much. I think it needs a bit of sloppiness to not sound too sterile. And it's always flattering to hear someone even just mention the Beatles when discussing something I did.

ASPIRING: Thanx for the advice and you're right. There is a lower harmony, but now that you mention it, I need to bring that up a bit to thicken up the vocals...Good ears , my friend, and good advice.

Back to the drawing board for a re-mix or 5 on this one. Thanx guys.

I have a tune that's about 2:18 that actually sounds longer than it really is - and feels fairly good structure-wise. Three minutes is a good benchmark though....looking forward to any updates...

:) :D :) :D

I don't know why, but you remind me of the red hot chilli peppers.
I really like the song. It reminds me of something I've heard before, but I can't put my finger on what song. I think you're vocals are a bit low at the begining, but that could just be because of the quality of the track on your site. By the way I also love your Ivory Tower song.
Thanx Puddytay. I love the Red Hot CHili Peppers, so thanx alot.

I just re-mixed it. You guys might not hear a big difference, but I re-sang some of the pitchy vocals and brought the bass out a bit and the vocals. thanx for the commetns so far.

The vocals could do to be slightly louder, the hi-hat is too loud in some areas...It's otherwise very very good. And it's a good song!

I like the tune! Catchy, nice vocal harmonies. Then that Beatles cover that played afterwards was excellent! Great work!

Thanx alot...You confirmed what I wasn't sure about. Nobody likes their own voice enough to turn it up enough, so I wasn't sure if it should come up or not.
I'm not sure if it's the high hat or it's when the tamborine comes in when it's too loud, but I'll check it out...thanx alot for the listen and advice. :)

Thanx alot, Greg. I don't know what else to say other than thanx. I really appreciate that. :)

no prob bro. im serious, i like it a lot. ive listened to it like 10 times now. :)

Hi Rami....I had some more listens to your new one. I like it. I think the vox could come up in the mix some though. :)

Sheesh...

Man, great schtuff as always, Rami. I think the vocal part in the middle was a bit off but I clicked the link you first posted so I may have hooked up with the first offering? Damn, duder... you are one talented ---!

I'm, as always with you and that Lawler freak that plays the guitar, continually amazed!

;) :)

Thanx alot True. :)

7-String: Thanx alot. You're right about that middle part. I've tried to re-sing it a few times since and I think I now have a mental block against it. I'll leave it a little off-key for now and re-visit it after getting away from it for a while. It's not even a hard part to sing, but I've convinced myself I'm always sharp or flat on it, so it's a mental thing at this point. And once i get mental, I get really retarded.
Thanx dude, looking forward to hearing some of your stuff, it's been a while. :)

I think I'm listening to the re-mix, correct? Can't say I hear a huge difference, but maybe the vocals are more "On" if you will. They seem to drive the song better....but that could be my sleepy ass imagining it.... :D

The vocals seem to have more depth than before...a little less focus on the highs, and more of a midrange sound....they seem to sit much better.

Is that a cowbell I detect? :D

Nice one again man....
