I was about to use mp3.com for the first time when I ran into their copywrights for cover song rule. I was just wondering if everyone who has posted cover songs on this board went through all that trouble.

Whats a copyright? (hehe) as long as your not trying to profit from the song there should be no problem. They got bigger fish to fry with the likes of napster. were just some measly home recording bums doing cheap covers and a few origanals. Try nowhereradio if ya want to put up some tunes to all the world to hear.

mp3.com

Thanks Charva

All I want to do is post a cover song to just sorta get my feet wet if you know what I mean. In the MP3.com FAQ it says that you'd better be ready to supply proof that you've obtained permission to use the material or be ready to be booted off of mp3.com. Nothing is simple these days.

i've seen bands that have blink 182 covers on there...go ahead, put it on. no one cares. If I was in a band and you covered my song (not making profit on mp3.com) I would be flattered.

I put a song up on mp3.com..."victory in jesus"...a tune outta my church hymnal...and it got jerked by mp3.com....and there were two other versions of it at the time on mp3.com too.

Copywright permission

Well.......I did it anyway.

Titles cannot be copyrighted so I dont see why they would pull it down.
