Copy / Paste Track Automation?

Crew...

Is there any way to copy track automation & apply it to other tracks (at the same location)?

I have a piano track I would like to swap with another piano track recorded with a different patch. The two tracks are identical (save for the piano sound.) I had painstakingly written gain envelopes onto the first track, to have the riffs swell in volume between vocal verses [& I really don't have the time or inclination to write them all over again onto the new piano track...(bitch, bitch, bitch.)]

(Plus, aside from that...what would you do if you wanted to hear how many different sounding tracks previewed in the mix...with the same automation envelope applied to all)?

In Sonar you can right click on the track containing the automation, select copy, and a dialog box appears which allows you to select various properties (including automation) of the track to copy.

To paste, right click on the desired track and select paste. A similar dialog will be displayed allowing exact placement of the automation envelope
