This is the second time you've mentiond this, no.

BTW; I'm watching/listening to one now (as always (well within the last two months)).

Yep 2nd time I mentioned it....ill probablypost again Friday and "spam" some more.....i think its a really cool site, especially for some of the beginner/intermediate guitarists here.....he really emphasizes technique and feel and tone and not just shred.....see ya Friday......

Damn. I like shredding. I'm a shredaholic. I've been doing it so long, people think I'm a shredasaurus.

What about chiken pickin? Where can I learn chicken pickin? Like the cool syncopated chicken pickin?

I think hell be doing a Zakk Wyld lesson soon which will probably include chicken-picking.....unless you mean chicken picking as in plucking a chicken, in which case this site may not help....

Yeah, nice site Gidge.
I think good quality sites should be posted so people can take a lesson or two if they need and gather some good info on gear etc.

Yes,

Its once again time for my weekly Spam.....every Friday at 4pm Pacific....this weeks lesson - Metallica.....dont miss it....and if you are crazy enough to miss it, it will be up in the archives in a few days...check out the previous lesson archives.......

Zakk Wyld and chickin' pickin? You can't be serious Gidge. He's a metal head isn't he? unless he changed styles and genres.

If your interested in that stuff BBB check out Albert Lee, Carl Perkins and Danny Gatton. Lots of music books available on those three.

Thanks Gidge, awesome site. Can't wait for a day off to really check it out and learn some stuff. Let us know of any others like this you might come across.

Cool site, Gidge. When is someone gonna take some of Frampton's "Do you feel like we do" apart?

Hard to transcribe shit with a big ol' tube hanging out of you mouth.

I expected that answer. :D

Seriously, there's so much going on in that tune, it's been hard for me to pick out much of his finger dancing throughout.

Emeric,

Zakk does some pretty damn good chickin pickin....just threw the name out because I know Marc is gonna be doing a Zakk Wlyde show soon (I believe) and I dont think hes gonna do a Albert Lee show anytime soon.....

He's a metalhead, but his roots are in Southern Rock...he actually filled in for Dickey Betts in some Almann Brothers shows.....

grip.
I thought you were slammin that site for being to basic, guess I haven't listened to any of that Frampton stuff since high school, 20+ years ago. I'll have to dig it out, never listened to the guitar stuff on it real close back then, too stoned.

No, I wasn't slammin' the site at all. I'm one of those wannabes supporting Curt Mitchell! :D

I was 17 when I saw Frampton (chocolate mescaline and a bag of columbian) at Winterland in San Francisco. Ok, the guy was only slightly less "bubble gum" than Lief Garrett, but he was a fretboard magician in my opinion.
Give "Comes Alive" a listen through some good phones in the dark. Huge guitars and great arrangements.

Just dug out the LP, blew off 2 lbs. of dust. Lets see now..... how did these antique phonography things work.......? Couldn't find any antique doobs tucked away in any of these old records...........damn...

Gidge + Emeric:

When Zakk first joined Ozz, I guess Ozz would have to force Zakk to ease up on the chicken picken because he thought it sounded too country. :p

Also, gotta check out Albert Lee, Carl Perkins and Danny Gatton. I'm still bummed that I moved to the DC area right before Gatton kicked it and never got to see him live. :(

I wish Greg Koch had a instructional video...

METALLICA RULES!!!!! I'll be there with bells on my dink!!!!!.................

Ok..you know the routine...every Friday at 4pmPacific.....if you get to get a question in on the live show, make sure you plug Homerecording.com to make up for me spamming this site.....
