Hi guys
First of all, I use Cool Edit (the former version of existing Adobe Audition)
And whenever I save my session and try opening it the next day or w.e, I cannot and it says...

"The sample format of the file being inserted is different that that of the multitrack session. Press OK will first make a copy of the file, then allow you to adjust the conversion settings"

In order to open my file, I Pressed OK and had to change Resolution to 8 bit without enabling dithering.
However when i do this, the sound quality becomes very poor

Has anyone ever had this kind of problem before?
What are some solutions to this problem?

It sounds like your project/session was originally set up to expect to work in 8-bit (perhaps by using the New Waveform menu dialog?), or that you're trying to mix waveform formats in one session - i.e. that there's something else in your project that's at 8-bit resolution.

If there's something else in there that's at 8-bit, I'd up-convert it to 16- or 24-bit and then replace the 8-bit version with the new one in the project, and then re-save the project. If that doesn't work or does not apply, you may have to create a brand new session and start your mix over.
