Cool Edit Pro Settings

Hi,

I'm new to recording with Cool Edit Pro 2.0.

I am recording cassettes. Here's the deal:

Nakamichi Cassette Deck 2 > Edirol UA-5(analog in) > USB > WinXP Pro > Cool Edit Pro.

Question:

If I record @ 96 kHz (and 44.1 kHz for that matter) are there settings within Cool Edit that I need to pay attention to?

The UA-5 is set at 96 kHz REC.

Thanks

if your card can handle 96khz then go for it...I would just say to use 44.1 though. If you are just recording old cassetts to your harddrive, the quality will never be better than the cassett anyway. You may be able to clean up any noise in the recordings but i dont think you will hear a big differance in 96 and 44.1 in this case.

I agree, you would hear zero difference. Cassettes only have a 55dB dynamic range anyway. 16/44.1 is more than fine for cassette conversion...
