I love using Sonar, but there is one thing that bugs me.

Is there any way I can use Cool Edit as my wav editor instead of the Soundforge? Under the Tool category I only see Soundeforge as a wav editor. Is there any way to change this so I can use Cool Edit instead. I like to compress my wavs using this rather than using soundforge.

Any help would really be appreciated.
I looked in the help section but no luck.

PEACE!!!

I'm relatively certain you should be able to use both Sound Forge and Cool Edit.

The choices on the Tools Menu are not either/or - rather any wave editor that you have installed on your system should appear there. However, I have read enough other posts to realize that frequently some of these programs don't show up after they've been installed.

The fix for this is to manually edit your Windows Registry. I don't have the exact steps (maybe someone else can step in here), but you can probably get there by searching the Registry for the Sound Forge entry under Sonar, and then duplicating that information for Cool Edit (obviously changing the program's executable filename and the directory locations as required to match your Cool Edit information).

I am required at this point to warn you to properly back up your Registry before attempting any modifications.
