budget increase so i'm getting new equip
debating
these interfaces

echo layla 3g
echo audiofire 8 (or 12 maybe later)
tascam fw-1804
presonus firepod
motu 828mkII (kinda out of budget but possible)
my main concerns are below in order on importance

1. convertors
2. number of inputs (4 I/O min)
3. word clock to sync up with other devices later
4. adat lightpipe
reliability
mic pres are not a problem i have external ones

software is sonar 4pe

i want you guys opinions on these interfaces
my studio mainly does tracking and mixing only
not much production and some audio transfer (adat to omf etc)

ok let the .02's start flying

I picked the MOTU only because I have had an original MOTU 2408 for a few years now, and I really like both it and the support I've gotten from the company (the one time I needed it, anyway, back at the first install). While I've not worked with the 828, I would not hesitate to go MOTU again.

Sidebar, your honor?

Sorry for going a little off-thread, but how is it that the poll results as of this writing shows 8 votes but claims only 4 voters?

I mean, I am from Chicago, so I'm used to the "vote early, vote often, even if you're dead" election style. I just didn't expect it here. ;)

i left the option to vote more than once but i would apreciate some responses as to why u like the interface/s that u picked

You might have better luck if you were to post this in the Computer Recording / Sound Cards forum.

Just a suggestion.
