Hello,
Up untill now I was recording on digi 4track and mixer. But I want to record directly to my laptop.
I want to use the same mic i always used.

So I was looking at the Tascam US-122L. since it has phantom which my mic needs. Is it good?

With the mic and interface I wont be needing my mixer anymore right?

Also what program is good with the Tascam?

Thanks

I've used the US-122 and currently use the US-428 as a front end for Sonar 5. I don't use my computer as my primary recording system, but for quick & dirty edits the Tascams perform admirably...

As far as software, The 122L comes with Cubase LE4... That should be perfect for you.

You don't mention what type of mixer you've been using... Some of the newer, smaller Yamahas and Mackies have some pretty clean pre-amps that you might want to hold on to and continue using (if that's what you have).

You can make some good recordings directly into the Tascam, but using a preamp will give you a bit more warmth and headroom to work with.

The Presonus TubePre or M-Audio DMP3 are nice little (inexpensive) pre's to get you started when you're ready.

:)

I have a Yamaha MG10/2 mixer.
Ok i think i will get it than.

Thanks for the help
