I have a sound card with a stereo audio input. The only sound recorder I have is the Windows 98 utility that records monaural from the microphone. I also have SW that will burn CDs from digital tracks (mp3 or wav). How can I record my analog LP records and convert them to CDs?

Set your 16 bit sound card to record at 44,100K (it will offer you options ;44 is CD,22 is FM radio quality,8ish or so is telephone quality.
Your CD recorder won't permit you to use an incorrect bit rate,it MUST be 44,100.

By the way,the mike-in is mono and the soundcard's line-in IS stereo.Use that instead along with a mixer, dedicated pre or some other level matching device.
Good luck!

This could be ancient history, but I thought Sound Recorder also had a time limit on recordings - but that could just be earlier versions, I haven't used it in several years.
