converters

Greetings:
I have a couple of questions and from the few posts I have read I am sure I will get some assistance here....

How good are the converters in the Layla 20? Ate they as good as th ones in the Yam aw4416? I know that one is 20 bite 128 x oversampled and the other 24 bits 64 x oversampled. Does the oversampled spec make a major difference...

Also what do you think of the Fostex ac2496 sonically against other a/d's (rme,lucid and apogee)

specs dont make converters sound better...there are 16 bit converters that sound better than 20 bit.....

unfortunately i dont have an answer between the 2.........

This is precisely why I am asking because If I just went by the specs the answer would be clear cut.. I am lookin for some insight on people who may have experience with the equip....
