If your planning on having clients other than yourself plan on using laminate glass for liability reasons. If you just plan on doing hobby recording for yourself and some friends then the 1/4 and 3/8 will do ok.

Are there different stc ratings found between the two?
Liability meaning broken glass!

And the thicker I go the less chance it will be broken when drum sticks go a flying.
I've found that the difference between 1/4" and lets say 1/2" isn't that much in price. The shop said they'd give me a quote on the laminate. They said they call back. That was Yesterday.
