Control surface for Pro-tools...

When I upgraded from pro-tools 8 to pro-tools 11 unfortunately lost all my plug-ins and my command 8 does't work. All these years I got use to having a control surface. Just curious what control surface do you guys suggest as far as working with Pro-tools 11. Of course I know the C24 works and its a nice piece of machine but don't want to spend that kind of money right now.

Check this thread. Apparently it works fine but you have to reinstall the command 8 drivers separately.

Beyond that, have a google for BCF2000 (cheap) and euphonix/avid (expensive).


You lost all your plugins because PT11 runs AAX format only.
Most, or many, plugin manufacturers have made AAX versions of their plugs, so google that.
Many of them even made the update/upgrade free. Waves is an example.

I'm not sure if it's still in place but Avid were giving a PT10+11 licence as one for this reason.
It allowed co-install which made it much easier for people to make the transition. I imagine they've killed that off now but, again, have a google.

Pro Control no longer supported in PT11 either. No joy and never upgrading for PT10.....
