Anyone know of a place where I can get a new skin for my Delta 1010 control panel??? I was used to my Terratec control panel and now getting used to the delta control panel sucks.

:D I don't think there are any skins out there for it. I'd love to have a new skin for the delta panel. Maybe all of us delta owners could pitch in a couple of bucks each and hire a programmer to make it happen.

Id sure as hell pitch in....I actually know someone who could probably do it...Ill have to give him a call....

ugh. i wouldn't mind seeing a whole new mixer app for the deltas. i hate that thing. not intuitive at all. i'd love to see something similar to ensoniq paris, where you actually drag and drop connections. much easier for those of us still patch with cables in our minds.

thejeremy, if you could get someone to hook it up, i'd pitch in too. i'm sure we could generate enough interest in this to get some funding. i actually emailed a company this morning about it just to find out what the possibilities would be. this would be really cool if it gets off the ground.

what changes would you guys want in the control panel? personally, i'd like to have the ability to hide some tabs and features that i never or rarely use. i'd also like to be able to look at the input meters without having to scroll right to see the meters. i never use the bass management tab so i'd make that hideable. same goes for the spdif and about tabs. there's alot of stuff on the hardware tab that i don't use either. if i could get a few useful features on one tab, i'd be a happy camper. ditching the windows look would be frosting on the cake. there's a few things i'd relable too.

have you ever seen the Reason layout? now that's awesome. like what you mentioned, cables and jacks.........and it makes sense to my brain. :D

exactly. 'paris' came to mind because it's a recording app and it lays out all the channels/busses in blocks and lets you drag/drop patch cords between them. makes perfect sense. unfortunately, the software engineers who usually write little interfaces (a la delta mixer) really don't know much (if anything) about the mindset of the end user. so it will make perfect sense to a software engineer, but little sense to a recording engineer.

i got a response back from the company that i contacted. they said that in order to change anything on the m-audio control panel, they would have to work with the programmers of the control panel to integrate the changes in the code. translation, no go.

maybe i'll start bugging the hell out of m-audio now. :D

There is a Delta SDK (software developement kit) you can download from M-audio (look under support). Maybe this has the necessary info. You have to sign up on-line as a software developer to download it.

Ok guys.....bringing this back to the top....I just talked to a programmer friend of mine today and he said he looked at the SDK and it doesnt look too bad....he will probably have to borrow my hardware though....:(

anyway...he asked me what I wanted him to do....He said it should be fairly simply if I just wanted all the options to remain the same...just look different...but If I wanted more options than the manufacturers software had..then it could get difficult....

I told him that I just wanted it to be a little easier on the eyes.....but I wanted to get some suggestions from you guys before he starts on it....so what do ya'll think????

Id also like to start a "tip jar" for him...so once its done...if anyone is interrested in the control panel.......

you get the idea.....
