With so much of radio, video rap music these days being chocked full of "materialistic, gangster-based, sexually laden excursions and escapades, is it a problem is it ironic even that this indulgence in lude and lascivious hedonism is ever so present on the campuses of Colleges and Universities?

Such places have always been, by nature of the environment, beacons of higher learning and bastions of sophistication.

Is it right or appropriate that colleges have been inundated by images of pimps, hoes, tricked out cars and trucks, gaudy jewelry and sycophantic use of profanity that comes with so much of today's rap music?

I don't pose this question to denigrate the culture of hip hop or to deny the other side of the coin--I know full well that there are more positive, message based artists. I am only asking the question as it pertains to the more heavily emphasized (radio stations, BET, MTV)
