Well, all I get on the webcam is the box :confused: But, since you posted the latest set of pictures I guess that will suffice :p It is nice to see things coming together after the long road you've travelled. I look forward to watching some more progress in the coming days.

Just bypass the pass-through page then.

The paint is still tacky, unfortunately. I got a lot done yesterday, welding and painting, but had to panic-scoop everything into the studio because it was going to rain last night (and all day today), and the temp started dropping way below the paint's cure temperature. So its assembled, and a little tacky still. I have the heat cranked so we'll see if it dries overnight, then the next couple of days I can attach the poplar and drill and tap various holes for the support components.

I am quite proud of this, aside from being a big project, its ROCK solid. I walked across it end to end before I shoved it under the slanted ceiling area. Looks like I'll be able to push it back further than I thought too...

but it only has one defect - its 1.5" lower than I *thought* I was making it. So we'll see if I can spin my chair down that far. If not, I'll make six bolt on feet.

Just tap for 1/4/20 screw-in levelers. Better yet, use the 3/8 shaft type. Their heavy dudy, and have longer threaded shafts.(just a suggestion frederic :) )
 
Oh yea...that's the ticket...camera works...so,...get back in there and get to work. :D

Green with envy... clever play on words considering the green theme of the studio!

The two monitors are MAG 19" monitors, heavy, heavy beasts. The PC has four VGA outs, so I'm trying to find either two more MAG 19" monitors, or bite the bullet and replace both of these with four LCD 19" monitors. Just not sure I can afford it, right now. I might just get two more MAG's and call it a day and worry about upgrading to LCD next year. I'm over budget anyway, though not as bad as I thought. I have to purchase two Motu 2408's still (I use them as TDIF to ADAT format converters - 3 units in one box is much simpler than having three Tascam IF-Tads with a wall wart each... I have an allergy to wall warts).

I'll give it a looksee, refurbished is fine. some of my recording gear is refurbs, no problems.

Just as long as they are the same monitor as the two I have, I'll go for it. Price is right!

I'd prefer four LCDs, but 19" LCD's are typically $500+ at this point still. Thanks for the lead!

Colorgraphics, quad out, AGP, based on the Rayethon accelerated chipset. Its really fast, good for video editing (directX support) as well as gaming, if you need/desire it.

Another good card, if you don't need gaming or high speed graphics (like for animation software, bryce and poser for example), Matrox MMS 200 cards can be had with quad heads, and are about $100 on e-bay. They are decent cards, I yanked one out of my studio PC when I got the colorgraphic card

Another option is to purchase two dual-head cards, one AGP, one PCI, and install both. Windows XP can spread its desktop across multiple monitors, multiple cards, etc. Technically, if you have the slots free, you can use four single monitor video cards. But I prefer the quad-head cards for two reasons.

1. It only takes one slot, and I can use the AGP slot.
2. The chips on the cards for the multiple outs are the same, thus using the same driver over and over. No video driver incompatibility by using two cards, of different makers.

That is an understatement.. :rolleyes: I'm dealing with it as I type...I pulled a video card out of one of my old computers that was functioning just fine at the resolution I wanted. Plugged it into another one, and it booted with 16 bit color and 600x800 resolution. I've tried everything to change it including going to MS to find another driver or find the driver on the old computer but nothing works. I'm at a complete loss with this one. :confused:(I'm running 98 on that computer though for my Lexicon stuff but still, this stuff baffles me.) Anyway, thanks for the info frederic. I'd love to have one of those for Autocad.

I've been out of town for a few days, and I return to find you sitting at a loaded table that looks stunning. Great job :D I'm doing the voyuer thing right now and see you there along with 4 monitors and all those digital mixers. WOW!!

I hope you're having fun now :cool:
