Ibanez Artist AR305AV

BluesMeister... That axe is outrageous!!!! Haven't seen an Artist with a quilt top like that since the 80's.
Eyes, I first saw this guitar in 1983 in an Ibanez brochure. I couldn't afford one at the time, young kids, mortgage and all that stuff.

Some 20 years later I was given the opportunity of buying one from a guy who lives in Canberra but who'd been working in Washigton DC. Man, I am so grateful to that guy. I never met him, only corresponded via e-mails. A lot of trust both ways, but it worked out.

The finish is Burl Mahogany with Antique Violin finish. The '5' at the end of the model indicates the burl mahogany top, the 'AV' indicates the antique violin finish.

The AR300 seres are fitted with two 3-position tri-tone switches. They give HB, single coil and parallel coil depending on the position of the switch. That pic really is of my guitar, down to the scratch on the top (from a previous owner). If you follow the "Hey Moskus" thread in the HomeRec CakeWalk Forum you'll see a pic of me, my Artist and my Mesa/Boogie DC-2.

i had one just like that too! i loved that Artist, it was one of the best axes i've ever played. and what a sound.
Trust me, it caused a LOT of friction, Mrs BluesMeister was not impressed when I told her I was going to buy this guitar.;) But, having let so many other opportunities go past I was not going to let this from my grip. I'm D/L-ing that jam right now Gonz...

Listen, I know it been done but there are a lot of new (and very cool :)) people here. Why don't you guys post picts of your Guitars.

Ok.

The one in my hands was my favorite. But I had to sell her because I couldn't play her out due to her boobies, etc. I actually bought her for $700 and sold her for $1400. I replaced her with the Les Paul and the HM Strat pictured. The HM Strat is my current fave. It's taken me many years to acquire each baby and I wouldn't want to give up any of them.

Btw, the yellow Ibanez was once stolen and recovered by the police.
