I have a new PC (HP Pavillion;30 GB hard drive, 800MHz, 1280MB,DVD,CDRW)

I also have a Roland VS-880EX that came bundled with a VS LOGIC (Emagic) I wondered if I can cannect the HDR to my PC and avoid buying a CDR burner. I am pretty new to this stuff although I've been a musician for years.

First of all is it possible?
Second, what hardware (SCSI ?) do I need to get my recorded music from the HDR to my PC so I can create audio CD's

Thanks, Strata

You need a sound card with SP/DIF connectors. Depending on what you want to do will decide which card you need. Are you going to record to the PC or just port over material from the VS? If you are just going to burn CDs the SoundBlaster Live Platinum card will do. You need an empty drive bay though for the digital inputs. Check the VSPlanet website for more detailed info.

Thanks Cap'n

I plan on really want the option of doing both, recording on the 880, porting to the PC...do some editing, maybe even supplement the recording on the PC.

I do however want the option to port back to the 880, I think the PC is a good way to store data. I have a cdrw.

I will want to burn CD's on the PC. Any suggestions ?

What about the stereo input out on the 880 to the sound in on the PC ? Do I need the Motorola de-coder or can the signal be sent directly ???

Excuse my ignorance. So many questions !!!
