Connecting To Recorders Together Via MIDI...

I have 2 Korg D8 recorders, and I was wondering if I can connect them together to make 16 tracks through MIDI. Please tell me I can!!!! PLEASE!
 
Are you wanting to have these recorders connected to your computer? I would think that you could run your midi cable out of the computer, into the first D8's midi in jack, then from that recorder's midi thru jack to the midi in of the second recorder. Then I think it would be the second recorder's midi out back into the computer. Then you would just set the first recorder to respond to midi data coming and going on channels 1-8, and the second to respond to channels 9-16. I'm not familiar with the D8's, but midi connections are midi connections, right? On the other hand, I could be wrong, but I have a feeling this will work. Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks Guitar Ed...but I am not using them through a computer. I just want to link them together to get 16 tracks. I've been trying, unsuccesfully! :(
