Ok,

I have KRK Rp5 studio monitors

and an M-Audio Revolution 7.1 Soundcard on my computer

what would be the best way to connect the monitors to the soundcard

digital out?

im confused

Thanks

I Googled the card and came up with this image. If this is your card then run a 1/8 Stereo plug from the FRONT l/r into whatever your KRK RP5's use for input plug. You may need some kind of adapter cable to split the signal into two lines for your monitors....

What about using the digital OUT?...and is using the L/R Front 1/8" the best way to connect it during recordings for monitoring and stuff (also during mixing)?...Also, should i connect it to the unbalanced or balanced ports on the monitors?

You can't use the digital output on the card because your monitors don't have a digital input.

You would use the unbalanced input oon the monitors.

You might want to think about getting a recording card, that one is more for gaming and movie watching.

Hey,

Yea i was thinkin of gettin something for recording...

Now i don't know what to go with

Either a PCI Sound Card, USB Audio Interface, or A Firewire Audio Interface

My Budget around around $125-$175

and i narrowed down my choices to these following options

PCI
M-Audio Audiophile 2496
or should i just chip in the extra 50 and get
M-Audio Audiophile 192

E-MU 1212M PCI

I have studio projects vtb-1 preamp that i hook up my microphone to..which goes into the line in on the m-audio revolution..if i buy one of the audiophiles or the E-MU..where and how would i connect it?

USB
Alesis IO2 USB Audio Interface

Firewire
Mackie Onyx Satellite FireWire Interface

If you have any others i'll be glad to know...Thank you.

Get a DAC to connect to your soundcard's digital out, and connect the analog outs of the DAC to your monitors.

That only addresses his monitoring problem. He has no way of adjusting the volume of the monitors and no good way of recording anything.

what about the audiophile 192...isn't it the same quality with just less inputs and outputs?

and what bout the firewire Mackie Onyx Satellite FireWire Interface? how would ihook everything up with that

and how is the firewire interface compared to the delta 1010Lt and the 192?
