connecting soundcard to monitors?

I'm currently using TRS cables (cheap hosa ones from GC) to go from my firepod to my monitors.....is this correct or do I need to go to guitar center today and buy some different cables?

Did that answer my question? I have accidentally used incorrect cables at times and it has still "worked".

Balanced cables should be fine.

You really need to tell us what kind of outputs the Firepod has, and what kind of inputs the monitors have. Also, are the monitors powered? Otherwise about the only answer you'll get is "Try it and see if it works"
