connecting monitors directly to soundcard..

Due to recording sessions in my bands rehearsal room, my mixer is down there and here at home i have nothing to control the volume on my monitors, so I have them directly hooked up to my soundcard (delta 66)..

So the monitors is going "full speed" and I have to turn the volume knobs in my mixing software waaaaay down to get an acceptable soundlevel, and I'm worried that unexpected sound bursts from the computer will blow my speakers, and more importantly my ears..

Does anyone know a way to turn down the soundcard volume in the software, so that I doesn't have to worry about loud noises..?

i dont know about the delta cards...but my terratec control panel has a master volume fader. I monitor from my card and I use this to control my volum.
