I was able to connect MIDI cables to my previous PC through an adapter that went though the serial joystick port (15 pins). My new PC does not have this input, but it does have a 10 pin serial port as well as several USB ports. What sort of adaptor or cable do I need to buy? I can't seem to find anything at Musican's Friend.

Thanks,
David

You need a MIDI interface, one that either has a serial or USB connection to the PC, or a PCI card.

David, if you still have the cable adapter, then mostly any consumer soundcard with MIDI/Joystick port is useable. If you loose the adapter, then you better get USB or PCI MIDI port as AlChuck mentioned.

I've been using a Midiman Midisport USB 2x2 for a couple of years now with no problems. Well worth it.
