Hi,

I'm new so bear with me on the silly questions. Thanks.

If I want to connect my MR8 from a mixing board that has phantom power what is the best way to make the connection between the two?

Thanks, Doc G

What kind of mixer is it?
Most of the time you can go from one of the main line outs on the mixer.

mixer

go main out, or monitor out, or aux out, into the mr 8. many aux outs are switchable from pre to post fader, comes in handy when using effects and eq

If you are using the main outs just make sure it's just a mixer and not a powered mixer. That would be a costly mistake.

Mixer Type

Thanks for the information. Let me give you some more info on the mixer and maby you can tell me a bit more. I don't want to blow anything up.
It is a Crate CSX12, I used it in my previous band. It is conected to a Peavey 1500 watt power amp. Do I just use the mixer and not the paower amp. also I am conneted to effects in my rack with the power amp, can I get use out of the effects through the board?

Like J. Bursch said, if the Crate mixer is powered just make sure you are only coming out of it with a line level signal and not from one of the amps. I don't know what shade of red the MR8 would be if it is fried.
I have a mackie powered mixer that I use for live sound and it does have a monitor line out that, when the switch is in a certain position is only a line level signal. I don't know about the Crate (if the Crate is a powered mixer).

power,

you have to use the auxillary outs, and if they are post fader, you can use your onboard, effects and eqs(i think its post fader?)

otherwise there should be a tape out, thats what i use on my peavey unity mixer, it is pre fader but i record dry, and add effects on the computer
