Gear I have:
Yamaha mg10/2c mixer
A few Roland JV sound modules / drum machines
Line 6 POD 2.0
Midiman USB 4x4 interface
Various electric guitars
From previous advice I have all analogue gear running into mixer and hope to implement midi signals through USB interface into Sonar 6.
Ref sound card vs interface , I was opting for an M-Audio 2496 using inserts on mixer to connect to this. Any issues before I commit to buy or would an external interface ( M-Audio Fast TRack ) be the way to go.
Of note I will only be recording one instrument at a time so mixer is more of a convenience/patching thing really.
