Help I'm kinda new to this lark, I want to connect or transfer recordings from a minidisk to my PC so I can use its CD writer to create a music CD. Can I connect it to my sound cards line in? Wot software is cheap and user friendly? Do I need any other spiecal gear(cables, interfaces??) er? where do I start?
Any help welcome

this is what i do.

i got an md8 track recorder and i use the monitor outputs. I use an adapter cable that is rca on one end and phono on the other. by phono,, i mean the same plug that fits your sound card or a walkman. Im sure there is a much better way,,,but i just figure it out as i go. Anyway,, i plug it right into the mic input. If you try this,,,, make sure you turn the monitor output on the track recorder down to zero to start,, so you dont overload your sound card. then use a program to record. i use cool edit . It lets me take a prerecorded song or track and "boost the sound" or add echo or whatever i want. I found that when i first did tryed this,,, i needed to disable my "mic boost". Its a setting in your advanced volume control. Hope some of this has been helpful.

ps ,, if anyone has a better way to do this with what i already have,,,,, im listenin

Instead of connecting to the mic input on the 'puter I would connect to the line input. It is usually quieter.
