Connecting a digital SPDIF cable and instrument cables to the MBOX 3

Hi All,
I'm finally retiring my beloved Roland VS1680 and going ProTools with an MBOX 3 set up. My question however involves how I connect all of my external gear into the MBOX3...

I have a nice digital dbx386 tube mic preamp with a digitial s/PDIF out. I assume that I'd connect that to the MBOX using the digital s/PDIF cable. I also want to connect my stereo keyboard into the line inputs on the rear of the unit.

The question is, does leaving the 1/4" line inputs plugged in disable or otherwise override the S/PDIF inputs?

Nope: you can use the 1/4" line inputs and S/PDIF input simultaneously. That's why they say it's a 4x4 interface: 2 analog channels + 2 channels of S/PDIF.
