I am completely ignorant to home recordings. I happened to find a microphone from an old box of my apartment and I am trying to figure out what it can do for me. The brand of the mic is "realistic", with labels "electret condenser" and IMP. 600O. It has a Y connector, one end is a standard 3.5mm audio connector and the other one is a similar connector but thinner.
Replacing the AAA battery with a new one, I connected the mic to my computer audio input and try to record sound, but the recorded voice is very weak. Is this mic supposed to be used with a computer? forgive me if this sounds silly, what this mic is different from an ordinary computer mic?
thanks
