Nice Job Jon

yeah-- bigups to a nice guy who has given me and others here lots of good technical advice (and the occasional free mic pair) purely out of his own altruism to the point that i never want to try to do what he seems to do so easily for the sake of the safety of myself, my loved ones and the public at large. :D

Well you aren't going to kill yourself with phantom power unless you jump in a baptismal pool with a mic or something

Today my supplier missed yet another ETA to ship the missing part :( It's getting depressing :(

On the plus side, I've had LOTS of time for product development ;)

see-- that's exactly the kind of wisdom I'm talking about-- I would never have thought that would be a problem

It seems like you don't know, but I actually have a few people I'd like to get some of your stuff as Christmas presents for. Do you anticipate that you'll have enough time to generate some new stock of your mics if you get the components you need w/in a couple of weeks or something? Do you have stock of your mobile stuff? What adapter would work for pluggin one of them things into a Mac laptop mic input (would you need the one with the battery)? Sorry for all the ?'s

Oh yeah-- what else are you making? :D

Grats!

And just when I was going to order a pair of the omnis, you're out of stock! :(

That sucks. :(

I've been wanting to get 4 more of those mics soon. 2 for a friend, and another pair for me.

Hopefully around Christmas time you'll have more.

But the one I have now is doing just fine.

Literally, it's one part, then I can make 500 of them. There should not be a problem supplying all the demand I will have, and my backorder list is not very long, less than a week at this point.

The PCC cable connects a mobile series mic to a PC mic input, which supplies +5V power. I assume Macs are the same, but I don't really know. I have parts for the mobile mics, they don't use the missing part.

Incidentially, I did the PSN interview with a 1H into a Soundblaster Audigy that I had to buy for the occasion, since Skype doesn't play nice with ASIO :o

Oh yeah-- what else are you making? :D

It's a secret :p

I'd like to congratulate Jon as well. I have had very good customer service from Jon and I think he has a bunch of great products.

Now if he would just design and sell a high quality microphone pre-amp that can be powered with (2) AA batteries and is the size of an Altoids tin and sells for $22 he would have something! I'm kidding of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if he could pull that off too.

Just thought I'd mention that I'll likely be looking at three sets of the 1Cs.

You can't really do a good job with 2 AA batteries without a DC converter, which I can't do because of FCC regulation. The price point would be a problem there too since the box itself is gonna run $5. So you're looking at a box bigger than an Altoids, using a 9V, and probably in the $69 range. I don't expect it would be particularly suitable for studio use though, there are cheap options available there already anyway.

Yeah....it's kind of sad really. I was all fired up to try a MS10 but alas they aren't available.....figures.......it's the story of my life....hurry up and wait....

OK, sorry for the shameless plug, but IF YOU WANT TO GET ON THE BACKORDER LIST, merely posting on this thread ain't gonna do it (except the one person who I PM'ed, but I ain't gonna PM anybody else).

Welllll actually I'd be more curious to know approximately when they will once again be available in general.

Dude, you've been holding out on me! I didn't even know you did anything like that! Now I feel really dumb.. :(

Gratz mshilarious.

You're nothing but a great asset to the HR BBS!
(not to mention you make some kick-azz mics!) :D

. . .OK . . . I'm saving up some (more) money!

Tried the 1C kick mic on a small Yamaha jazz set last week at a gig. Really easy to work with and tons of signal made it easy to "set and forget". I'll be auditioning the tracks and mixing down the sets later this week but initial listens on the job from myself and the drummer agree that it really captures the sound of the drum and the beater---it's almost like separate mics were on the beater and the shell.

Have been using my Matched MSH-10's as overheads for our new CD and I am totally blown away (as is our engineer). These things are awesome! :)

I think I got one of the last pairs before the 'out of stock' virus popped up so I feel very fortunate.

I'm going to splurge for a couple of MSH4's next...

Congrats Jon!

:)
