Confused about equipment needed for newb

Thanks for the advice on the AI. I came across the Tascam US122MKII on amazon at a rather good deal, however it seems to have issues with Windows 7( which i am running ) =/ As for the midi keyboard. I guess I have to read up more :) Wont be getting one so soon. The mic, AI, headset and mixing software is what I should be getting I guess.


Also, I came across Sony Vegas movie platinum Suite 12. There seems to be a audio production feature in it? Its going for $76 dollar on Amazon and I am not sure if its a good software. It would be kind of helpful if I can get a software that creates both great videos and audio tracks :)

You can download demos of all Sony software so you can try before you buy.

Sony Soundforge is a great editor as well, got a great noise reduction system in it for tape and vinyl.
