im looking for the best all purpose condenser mic for under 500. the cheeper the better. i have an xml 990 right now. i wanna use the mic for maily guitar and vocals. thanks alot guys

Search condenser, title only in advanced search. Start reading... I think I've made all-purpose condenser suggestions to three separate posts this week alone 
You'll find my suggestions mostly involve Rode mics... nice, well-rounded sound, low-noise for pretty cheap, many in your price range.

take a look at some cheaper chinese ribbon mics, they sound great on guitar cabs and work on some vocals very well.

Check out a Karma K-58 that can be bought new for under $350. The K-58 is a multi pattern tube LDC Mic. For the money it's hard to beat IMHO. Here's a link.

Another mic to consider is an Audio Technica 4050 which is a multi pattern LDC Mic that can be picked up new for less than $500 and around $350 used.

I am a baritone vocalist primarily and like my voice through my ($499) sE Z3300A which also does a real nice job on acoustic guitar.
