I would like to mic the drumkit with (2) overhead condenser mics, and a kick mic to record on a Tascam 424

Does anyone have any suggestions for some inexpensive condensers to use with my Tascam. . . Thanks!

This question belongs in the Microphone forum.

Does your Portastudio have phantom power for condenser microphones?

If not, you will need to purchase an external phantom power supply to power the Mic's.

Cheers! :)

phantom power

I own a 424 and you will definately need a phantom power supply. I got a art box and it works fine. :)

Define "inexpensive"!

You get what you pay for. Do the overhead mics absolutely have to be condensers?

I have the AT 3035, use a Tube pre, Symetrix 528E, or the Carvin PA head for phantom power for the 424 mkIII. Still saving for the second overhead. But I use dynamic mics to close-mic the kit, and the condenser for overhead.
