my budget is about 300, maybe 350....

some mics iam looking at...

Audio Technica AT2050-229.99$

MXL-4000-$200

Shure PG42- $200

Sterling Audio ST55-$180

I was wondering out of this which one would be a good choice, and if there are any others that can be thrown into the pot around this price range...

Thanks

What do you plan to use the mic for? Are you going to use it on voice, guitar, drums? Check out the KEL HM-7U. If you buy direct, you can try it for 21 days and they will refund your money if you don;t like it.

But like snaimpally asked... what are you going to use the microphone for.
Knowing this one can give a better answer and better microphone suggestions than what you listed.

OK and know what preamp are you using?
For some microphones play better with Certain preamps.

i was under the impression AT mics are really good...

They are, but the 20 series are the bottom of the barrel for AT, they are made in China. Take a look at their 40 series.

Also take a good look at the Shure SM7b or the MXL V67g. ;)
