condenser mic...where does it point?

is a condenser mic "pointing" in the direction that you see the little round thing inside the capsule...is that the way it is pointing? or do you sing into the top of it like a dynamic(i dont think that is right)???

How To Address The Mic:

Assuming the mic looks like cylinder... Have it so that the grill you will be singing/speaking into is on a level with your nose. Then move around up/down, in/out from there. Even a few millimeters of movement can make a big difference. 6 inches away from a condensor mic is not unusual, but experiment. It's fun, and worth the trouble.
