Condenser Mic for Guitar ??

I notced the poll on guitar mics had no votes for favorite Condenser mic for guitar amp miking.

Is there is some reason beyond personal taste- that is , is there some technical reason why it wouldn't work or why it would always sound like crap?

I ask this because I bought a condenser mic for vocals but had assumed I would be going direct on my guitars...But I am having second thoughts on that now, after hearing the direct guitar sound on my stuff. I'm doing this on PC with Cakewalk HS XL.

I think now that I want to mic my Marshall. Before I go out and buy another mic (SM-57 probably) , I'd like to see if Condenser mic on the Marshall is even worth my time in trying.

Also like the AT4033..And the Blue Baby Bottle..However they need quite a bit of padding{no pad on the mic itself}KSM44 sound pretty good also{in fig8}..At the moment I guess my fav is the Blue Baby Bottle..

I prefer dynamics for that job, particularly Shure SM7B. Sometimes I'll use a condenser as well, backed off. For that, I use B.L.U.E. Kiwi, 'cause it's the best mic I have. I haven't achieved great results sticko=ing a condenser in front of a cab. I would recommend the best dynamic you have on the cab, and the best condenser you have backed off.-Richie
 
The universally accepted guitar sound:
Marshall Amp
4x12 Cab with celestions
SM57 mic right in the center 45 degrees off axis( move to taste.)

Turn it up.
