Hi, I have a delta 66 card w/ breakout box. About to buy a mixer to go with it. I already have all the mics/cables/stands I need.

I have a dilemma. I'm going to be recording mainly my band, and my wife doesn't want them here all the time making lots of noise. So I need to be able go to them. Now, I have 2 computers. I have one, that has all the fancy lights, and cathode tube lights, and stuff and a flat screen monitor, for gaming. So I do not wanna use it.

I also have my old pc, which is a 1.5 ghz celeron w/ 384 megs of ram running XP pro. It has a tiny HDD in it, but I can always get an external for music purposes. I was wondering if I cleaned the hdd and loaded NOTHING but my music software on it, would it be sufficient for recording with? I will never be recording more than 2 things at one time like.. drums/guitar. Sometime Later I will probably upgrade the motherboard, but for now will it suffice? Ideally I'd rather have a laptop, but I am comfortable with using the delta 66 and I like the sound it gives, so getting a laptop would mean selling the delta for something else thats compatible with a laptop. Any ideas?

more ram and yull be fine, cause your average laptop will run about 1.6 ghz, so, no wories, and i would get 7200 RPM external harddrive.
