What's better for recording bands, a computer or digital multi-track? I always liked computers, if the music is going to end up there to be edited, why not just put it there to begin with, but someone brought up the point that computers will get slow if used for a long time, the multi-track won't. It's made to keep doing that. I can get a multi-track for the price of a good sound card, so I thought I'd ask.

I love using a DAW for editing/scrubbing....... I HATE using a DAW for recording...........

I prefer the stand-alone MDMs........

A mixer and a stand alone HDR would give you the most flexibility for bands. Especially when you factor in the I/O cost for more than 8 channels on a DAW.

If I get a hard disk recorder and mixer, would I need a really good sound card? I was planning on getting a Delta 1010. Would I not need that?
