Well first of all, we're not psychic.... you want directions for Windows, Mac, Linux, Commodore64 or what????
If you're on a Windows machine go to Start>Control Panel>Sound and look through the tabs until you see something that says Voice or Audio Recording.
Big problem is: If you're using a built-in soundcard, unfortunately those are made with less than 40-cents worth of chips for beeps, boops and light gaming (not to mention cheapness for the manufacturer) and not quality music production.
#1 Rule of Recording: You MUST replace the built-in soundcard.
