computer sound problems

Ok, I got n-track up and running. Running my guitar through a Korg effects petal into the puter. Both my cable and adapter are stereo and 16 bit stereo recording is on. Thing is when playing, music and tonal quality sound great (well good enough for a cheap effects petal) but after recording, playback sounds muffled. There isnt a buzz or a hiss, just seems like someone yanked out the treble... any suggestions?

Get a preamp. It has many uses in the future. Either a stand alone one like the ART Tube MP or those that come with a mixer. I think that'll help.

Also most guitar effects pedal are not meant for direct recording. Try a POD or a Sansamp. It'll give you that 'killer tone' (i've always wanted to say that)
