Computer restarts when loading VSTs

Hi. I just nought a new computer just for audio and I just installed both Cubase and Fruityloops installed on it and whenever I open Cubase, it runs through the start up screen and when it gets to loading VST's it restarts my computer. Also, when I have Fruityloops open and I try to select a VST by clicking on 'Insert Channel -> 'More' it also restarts my computer.

I did a little research and I found a few listing mention something about the pagefile.sys. I dont really know much about this.
Has anyone else ever had these problems? I own 3 other computers and never had this problem before.

Also, I went into 'Contol panel...System....Advanced and shut off the "Auto Restart"' feature and then I tried loading the VST's and got the blue screen of death. I mentioned something about 'adidts.sys'.

My setup is Asus p5b motherboard, Intel Core 2 Duo 6400, 2GB RAM, Windows XP Home SP2

after MORE research I seem to have concluded the problem isnt with Cubase or Fruityloops or the VST's themselves. Just a little warning for those in the market for buying or building a new computer....the problem seems to be the the built-in Soundmax sound card drivers on the ASUS P5B Deluxe w/ WiFi. I get the BSOD whenever I load a VST and the file it refers to is 'adidts.sys'. I believe I can just disable the sound card in the BIOS which isnt such a big deal to me because I also purchased a Tascam FW1082 to be my primary audio interface, BUT, after paying a hefty price for a new motherboard from a reputable company I really shouldnt have to do this or even worry about problems like this. Also, ASUS has the slowest and WORST website ever created.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Apparently you can never do enough research on the things you buy.

If this is to be your primary recording PC - I imagine you will get a better sound card in the future as well.
If so - you can completly disable the onbaord sound at the BIOS level (when the PC is booting up), and your OS will never even know it exists.
