Hi all,

I have just sold off all my analogue recording gear and looking at setting up a digital system. I would like some advice on what would be the best setup for 24bit digital recording using Logic Audio Platinum 5.1.3 or pro tools etc. I am looking at the following setup for my home project studio. This may be overkill i dont know.

Computer:
P4 2.26Ghz 533mhz 850E Intel Chipset
Asus P4T5333-C mother board (Rambus board)
520mb rambus memory
UAD-1 Effects Card
etc. etc.

Don't know which way to go as far as h/drive interface etc. I need to be able input atleast 8 instruments etc. Was looking at the new Digi002 maybe, or a 828 or Motu 896 firewire with Firewire harddrive attached also.

I have all software so I need to budget somewhere around $6000 for hardware.

Your opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Zak

Sorry guys,

I forgot to mention I already have:

Alesis Monitor RA-100 Ref Amp
Alesis Monitor One Speakers
Roland Sc88 Pro sound module
Midi Keyboards with Midi interfaces
Rode Classic Valve mics
Logic Audio Platinum 5.1.3
Pro Tools
Wavelab etc.

that looks good, you might want to make sure that your mobo has no conflicts with whatever sound card you'll be using. A little more ram wouldn't hurt, and if you want to save a bit of money and not loose much performance you could get an AMD, but thats a personal preference. Personally i like AMD regardless of price, but hey, im loyal to them i guess.
