Hey everyone,
I am currently using some equipment at my college to do some multitracking and we have several compressors to use. I am tracking a band with some drums, bass, elec. guitar, and acoustic guitar.
I have a couple of questions:
Which instrument would be best to use the compressor on? I am using DI's on the guitars and most likely the bass for now.
Second thing:
I know that everyone will probably laugh, but I understand kinda what a compressor does as far as making it so you don't go over certain thresholds and helping isolate a particular sound. Unfortunately I do not know how to use one that well. I need help with how to set each nob, what each one does, things like that so I can use the equipment. The teacher is working with 2-3 classes at the same time, so he doesn't have a lot of time to work with me on it.
Any help would be much appreciated!
