Compressor without insert points?

Hey ya'll, i've got a Tascam 424 MkII and it doesn't have insert points. Well, I want to use my compressor with it, and since Dragon said that using them in effects loops is a no-no, then how should I hook it up? Is there a way? Thanks for any help ya'll can give!

You can run a microphone or instrument directly into the compressor during recording of that track. This way will "Print" the Compressed signal to the tape.

You may not be able to get enough volume out of this signal path. If not then you will need a separate Pre-amp or sub-mixer.

To compress the complete mixdown during play back or mixdown, you can route the stereo outputs from your Tascam deck through the compressor, and then to the amp/master recorder.
