But why are there two of you, one with 25 posts, and one with 100 or so?

tyler675recpro and tyler657recpro.....

my e-mail address changed, and when i changed it on my other account, it locked me out

littledog....

believe me, my concern has nothing to do with people hurting my ego.. I'm the first person to belittle my knowledge, so when someone corrects me, I'm rather happy about it... because it usually means my sound will benefit because of it.
however, the concern I have is that I will say something that is quite wrong, yet sounds reasonable... a newbie will come along and think "hey, this guy has a few posts under his belt... he probably knows what he's talking about", and there will be no Harvey or Bruce or (insert forumite here) to correct me, and so my misinformation will perpetuate onto these new guys.....
I don't know, maybe I'm just looking too much into it.....

Personal attacks and profanity should be avoided at all costs. It gives the forum a bad attitude. I really dislike people who insult and use profanity. It's best to be professional as possible in public. Keep your opinions to yourself;)

It seems that the only people who use the dynamic range these days, are those annoying "sound board "operators"" at church who don't know shit and record everything at -8db on crappy tapes, and movie soundtracks.

Try this. It'll blow you away. Today, I got out my copy of the Lord of the Rings Soundtrack. Stuck it in there. Don't add any compression or anything. Just color it a little with an EQ if u want to. Set everything at a normal level, except the amps. Set those high, just becareful, not too high. Then sit back and listen. Track 13 specifically, it's all quiet, and soft and happy, running at about
-30 on the meter, and then all of the sudden, it peaks up to plus 20. It's heart stopping, and you don't even have to be watching the movie. That's what digital gear is all about.

Try it.

er... Tyler... what kind of cheap-ass meters are you using that scale up to +20?!??!? (You'll have an overload indicator light around that kind of level, but certainly no scale...)

Bruce

It's just my crappy ass behringer board that I have in my bedroom. I think it doesn't peak until +40! lol That's behringer for ya. The preamps suck, and the alt 3-4 is pointless, the peaklights are also the pfl button lights, and i could go on forever, but i dont really use it for anything else but listening to mp3s (which sound like crap anyway) in my room.

why do you listen to mp3's through it????

you don't have a little home stereo with aux inputs or anything?

Home stereos are too simple. I'll never go back. And behringer is better than any home stereo you can buy anyway.

Thanks for showing us the way tyler, Im going to sell all of my Mc Intosh Gear and replace it with Behringer.
