compress to save disk?

no not audio compression. you know in disk clean up you can select the option to compress old files to save hard disk space.
does that affect audio files in anyway or session files like cool edit .ses files? just wondering if this might corrupt an audio file or some other destructive effect.

Compression and decompression take CPU time.

You don't want that happening while you are trying to record or play back music. You want your computer to work as fast as possible.

If you are running out of space, get another disk or a bigger disk but never use disk compression.
 
i thought it only compressed old files, not as they're created. I got space so i'll change it anyway.
