I don't mean to sound nasty, but,
have you guys noticed that the'se wannabe hip hop guys have absolutely no command of the english language???
The software you want to get your hands on is called fruity loops, it's really really really good (
www.fruityloops.com) is costs about $99 and kicks ass for laying down drum beats etc.
The other software I'd recommend, is called ACID and is made by a company called sonicfoundry. (
http://www.sonicfoundry.com/products/default.asp) This is a really really really good program, you load samples in, tell the program what speed you want it (it does all the pitch shifting and time stretching for you) and then, all you do is draw how long you want the beats to last.
I did most of my university music reports with it. It kicks ass.
Thats a good start, once you get that up and running, come back here and we'll take you through the next steps.
good luck
