compatible?

i have a boss br 900cd and cakewalk music producer 5, can i use the boss direct to plug guitars, ect in? if so how do i do this. if not what recording software is compatible? my cpu sees the boss as a mass storage device.

You can export files from the Boss to you computer via USB, but they are in a format only usable by the Boss software. You could then use that software to convert to WAV and use that file with Cakewalk.
You could also use the Boss as an input device, but the output would have to be audio (from the audio outs of the Boss), to your audio interface to your computer, so in effect you would be converting the signal as: analog>digital>analog>digital. Probably not the best choice.
