Compatability of Teac 3340s simul-sync

Does anyone know if recordings made with a 1970's vintage Teac 3340S simul-sync reel to reel recorder are compatable with the later (but still vintage) Tascam 34B 4-track machines or with other manufacturer's 4- tracks (say, Otari)? I ask because the "simul-sync" technology didn't seem to last long and the newer ones make no mention of it. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Yes, they are completely compatable.

I have owned two Teac 3340S decks (1974 & 1982) and made over 50 tapes on each. I moved to a Tascam 34B several years ago and all my old tapes work fine. I prefer the 34B straight four track recording to the simul-sync.

I always used high quality tape and have had no sticky shred problem.

Good luck.
