I'm trying the demo of this excellent low priced software. I am using Win XP Pro. Has anyone had any problems running it on XP. I personally haven't, and the Fasoft site says it works best on Win 2000 and 98 etc, I just want to know before I register.

The best way to find out if your gonna have problems on *your* system is to....try it out on your system. Has it met your needs so far? Is it stable on your system? Have you run into any problems?

So far none of the above....:)

It's a great program for the price.

It's hard to say what kind of issues you'll experience on XP, as it's only a week old. I think I'm going to wait for about 6 months before I move to it. Mostly because 2000 is working great and I don't absolutely require the benefits of XP at this point. I always love trying out new shit though....and I'm very tempted :)

I'm glad to hear n-Track runs. I'm guessing that most software that ran on 2000 (which includes MOST SOFTWARE) will run fine on XP. I am absolutely not concerned about software. What I am concerned about is hardware. Now the move to XP should be easier than the initial move to XP...except for the fact that a lot of hardware manufacturers are still in the process of HACKING out decent WDM drivers. What is the damn holdup? I'm not talking about standard hardware like video cards and the like, I'm talking about atypical hardware like 24bit soundcards, and periperherals like USB devices and CDR drives. Personally, I'm only truely concerned about my Delta card; the m-audio driver depertment must consist of one guy...who's sick a lot.

The good news is that Win9x is GONE. Woohoo! No longer will hardware manufacturers to use the old "well most people use 9x" excuse! Well, one can hope anyways...

I've been using XP for about 3 months. I used the trial version.

I wouldn't be so sure about the Win 2k to XP thing. It seems logical at forst to assume that if it works in Win 2k it should work in XP. Be prepared for a bit of a surprise, a fair amount of stuff doesn't. Cubase users are struggling at the moment because it isnt easy to get working properly on XP and people are coming up with all manner of varied solutions. It's about time Stienberg pulled the finger out and make an official comment really...

As for the hardware thing, XP ships with drivers for almost every contingency. If your hardware doesnt have an official driver yet Microsoft seem to have made one for almost all of the most common components. You are probably right to waiut though...

the wheels of progress... they turn slowly....

For those of you already on Win2k, you should look around for the article just realeased that benchmarked Win2k against XP and found that XP was MUCH slower. You might want to do some investigation before you switch.

Whatever... that is probably due to a lack of drivers. XP is by far and away the best OS yet imo. But getting XP drivers is essential.
