Slackmaster2K

Gone
The comp CD is still finished. There will be no more work on it in its current form. The mac support has been dropped since I don't have the equipment to work on it, and nobody who's paid for the thing uses a mac as their primary machine (that I'm aware of). No biggie.

The CD is officially held up for a reason that is beyond my control, and it is not my fault for a nice change. I think I've owned up to my mistakes enough that you can believe me here. I'm not going to say why it's held up, because I can't and I won't. However, within 15-30 days it should be going into duplication and then after however long that takes it will be shipping...if everything goes right.

It is coming. After its coming, I'll be leaving. Sweet mercey!!!

Somebody needs to take over this project in the future, so I open the floor to nominations/offerings/voting/etc. I will make the proper arrangements with Dragon once it has been decided.

When you say you'll be leaving, I hope you didn't mean leaving this BBS! ???

Don't make me come to Bozeman.

You wouldn't like me if I came to Bozeman.

You just meant that you wouldn't be taking another Comp CD project on, right? That better be all you meant!

As far as the CD, I am glad to hear your report. Patience is a virtue.

I'm a virtuous mutha.

I love you, Bo-dee-poo!

Brad

No Leaving........not allowed......you're one of the founding members, bunghole......the cd was/is just a fun thing, not a major event that anybody's lives hang on.....

No more talk about hauling outta here or I'll......I'll.......pout....or something.......gibs:mad:

is this cd supposed to be a compilation of home recorded songs by members of the bbs? how can i get a copy? is it possible even though i live in asia?

>is this cd supposed to be a compilation of home recorded songs by members of the bbs?

Yes.

>how can i get a copy?

Write to Slackmaster2K.

>is it possible even though i live in asia?

I think the issue with that was how to get funds to Slack. But since nobody has gotten a copy yet- stranger things have happened.

Hey Slack, am I still on this thing? I don't remember if I ever sent any cash - give me some 411.

Jim, heres the son list, i think.....

Slack, i for one stand and applaud your perserverance....a lesser man would have scrapped this project long ago but it looks like it will see the light of day..........

i think we should consider mp3's for the next project...i know alot of people are adamantly against mp3's because of quality issues but let Slack be the first to tell the rest of us what a headache this has been.....i think a little audio quality can be sacraficed for simplicity......

maybe Waldo can hook us up.....

or we can do a mp3.com pay for play thingy...how does that work lately?....proceeds can go to Dragon......

comments? suggestions? tell me where to shove the idea?....

That's a whole bundle of excitement.

>Mine is correct. I'm getting excited now!

Brad, no I didn't mean leaving the BBS, sorry to be so dramatic.

jitteringjim, yes you're on it. No I didn't get your money. Don't worry, I've got enough to cover it for the most part and people who want to buy after it is out can send money at that time.

I nominate doc to head the next one.

Gidge,

mp3.com P4P now works on a premium basis, i.e. you pay mp3.com $20 a month, and then you recieve pay for each time a song is played.

P4P works out to about 0.001 cents a playback (avg.), so, you have to get about 20,000 plays a month to break even.... i.e., p4p sucks, and that's why you hear so many people bitch about it over in the mp3.com forums.

I'd be happy to host the compilation for you guys in two ways, online samples, and on-demand CDs printed one at a time as they are ordered, shipped to customer, etc.. There is no upfront expense, I just take the expense of each CD out of the sale price (which you set), and the rest goes to you.

You can make arrangements to ship the profits to whoever you like, and yes, I vote for dragon. Since I've got his paypal info, I can just transfer everything direct to him as albums are sold I suppose.

Anywho, I would really enjoy having a homerec comp. in my CD player, so let me know what's up.

W.

Man that was downright therapeutic.

I got to rag on you publically, vicariously for the rest of the (temporarily) disappointed group that have fronted cash toward this project and get

"Firm Proof"

that my poking in your rib cage is being heard and felt.

>I'm not going to say why it's held up, because I can't and I won't.

Last cam shot I saw you looked better than that guy they found in Pakistan by the side of the road. Stay well. I don't wanna see you facing any torture, mutilation or exposure to puffins.

Relax. I don't think Slack is living the highlife with 20x20 $ (did anyone say he was??, no but) a few lines of coke, or several cases of beer. :)

It's a CD, sounds like it's done.

Burn it, ship it.

If anybody wants I can scan the bills, since I've kept all payments in cash form in a special little secret envelope from day one. :) In fact there are still a couple orders I haven't cashed yet.

P.S. I only got payments from about 1/2 the contributors. The rest is from kind souls who preordered last march. I do have enough to get it duped, and I'll probably kick in my own money to do the printing and shipping, relying on orders from the time it is finished to cover my expenses (minus my own 20 bucks of course). The rest of the money will be given to the BBS.

The CD is done; Brad can vouche for that. It will be shipped. There *is* a holdup involving someone else and is in the process of being taken care of by myself personally. All things considered this last delay isn't that big of a deal, heh...in fact it almost blew over unnoticed, oh well :)

Yes, I can vouch - it is done and it is really freaking cool, in my opinion.

What is the mystery hold up? Is it my mom? Is she not signing off on the rights to use her nude photo as the centerfold of the CD booklet?

Speaking of my mom, Slack, did you ever get in touch with her main squeeze Clayton?

I am starting to worry about step daddy S8-N.

The mystery holdup is that I was a forgetful dumbf*ck. I actually misplaced the money order Slack sent me long ago that was the deposit for the dupes. I should have taken it directly over to the dupers place, but did not. Kill me please! :(

So, the money order could be somewhere in the middle of a dump in eastern Oregon. Slack needed to put a stop on the money order and get issued a new one. That takes time. I offered to cover any expenses incurred in replacing it, right up to the full amount if it couldn't be replaced. It would appear that is not the case, and it will only cost a few bucks to replace it. Got it covered.

Actually, NOT paying the deposit turned into a better duping price for us. I got a bid from another duper that was about .50 LESS per disk. On 100 disks, that is cool little $50 savings that will benefit the BBS.

doc, I think you SHOULD take on the next comp CD. There is not much to it really. ;)

So, this current delay I apologize for. But, once we get the new money order and the master and it are sent over, the duping will take less than one day, and orders will be shipped promptly.

Ed

Now I feel bad. I should've just kept my mouth shut.

Hey wait a sec, I *am* the moderator in this forum...change a word here, change a line there...hmmm :)

Slackmaster 2000
